Civilian Service Medal (Afghanistan)

We are receiving a lot of requests for information about this medal. The manufacture of the medal was put out to tender and the decision on the award of that contract has not yet been announced.

Once the contract has been awarded then details concerning the medal and ribbon can be confirmed and the miniature put into production. As soon as it is available we will publish details here and in our newsletter.

PJM order of wear

Awards to UK citizens including service personnel of the UK armed forces, made by the states of Malaysia have specific place in the order of wear for medals.

If a recipient of the PJM has a GSM only then the GSM is worn first followed by the PJM. If they have for example a GSM, Long Service & Good Conduct medal then the PJM is worn after the long service medal.

For a full up to date list of the order of wear refer to our website, go to information and you can download the order of wear free of charge.

NATO Medal changes

Medal policy review undertaken during 2009-2010 approved a number of refinements effective 1st January 2011.
The most notable changes are that the Non-Article 5 Medal has had its ribbon changed to match all standard non-article 5 operation medals and the clasp has been amended to read Balkans. Not clear yet if current holders will have to change their ribbon - will update when known.
